A modern city administration is not any more merely a faceless administrative machinery; much rather, it presents itself to the outside. With the support of seecon gmbh, a mission statement for the city of Cham was developed. seecon gmbh prepared the framework for a successful and effective development of a mission statement, including the preparation and facilitation of workshops, evaluation of the results, as well as support in the formulation of the mission statement, support regarding public relations, and guidance regarding the design of the population survey, supervision of consultation processes and project management. It was interesting how the workshops were extremely productive, particularly because they triggered a participative process involving different stakeholders, which in turn is the core of the development of the mission statement of the municipality of Cham.

When a successful and experienced managing director retires after many years in this position, this represents a loss as well as an opportunity for an organization. The Swiss Professional Association of Caregivers (SBK-ASI) took advantage of this situation. A working group was appointed, consisting of members of the board of directors, the general secretariat and the executive committee, to successfully organise the succession process. With the support of seecon gmbh, the requirements and job profile were analysed, revised and distributed to the members of the working group. During the meetings, both critical questions and new suggestions were discussed. seecon gmbh prepared the agenda for the discussions and facilitated the dialogue, allowing the members of the group to express their concerns and arguments and to reach a common understanding. This strategy helped to create the new job advertisement and to narrow down the selection process. Thanks to a new directionality of responsibilities, a good solution could be found internally.
Example: Online Files Archive for the Swiss Hiking Trails SAW (Schweizer Wanderwege)
Seecon gmbh was entrusted with the mentoring and set-up of this project. Once the structure of the files archive was defined in a participative manner, an external IT-company was assigned to create the corresponding website, so that the documents of all hiking trail organisations in Switzerland could be uploaded on this web-platform. After an extensive testing phase, the final version of the platform is available to all hiking trail organizations since 2007. With this platform, each organization can administer its documents easily and efficiently according to the ISO standards. The Swiss Hiking Trail SAW as an umbrella organisation now offers a valuable web-based tool to all its member organisations. The actual functions of seecon gmbh were to guide and consult the activities, to train the members of the staff and to make them acquainted with the new system.
