Five cities both in India and the Philipines are developing plans of action for the improvement of urban sanitation management for ACCESSanitation (Accelerating City-to-City-Exchange for Sustainable Sanitation). seecon supports the participating cities in developing the plans of action through continued supply of tailor-made training and coaching, all on the basis of the seecon-made SSWM Toolbox.
With the publication of “Alps Know-How”, seecon has created a comprehensive teaching package on the central themes of the Alps and their development. “Alps Know-How” is an online platform with detailed teaching material available for download.
The „Businet Rohrkolben“ is a network of independent firms, organisations and institutions that are cooperatively building up a cattail value-added chain. The project, initiated and managed by seecon, contributes to regional development and thus enjoys the support of the Canton of Lucerne within the framework of the New Regional Policy.

The Ecosan Services Foundation (ESF) that is based in Pune (Indien) offers training courses, consulting and project implementation for ecological sanitary systems (Ecosan) and sustainable residential water management. seecon is a founding member of ESF.
seecon is part of the steering board of the foundation, which is active in the area of sustainable tourism. It supports the traditional Tuareg culture and encourages cultural exchange between representatives of the Tuareg and those of other peoples. For 20 years and in close cooperation with Tuareg the foundation has been organising authentic travel experiences on camels’ backs.
The IEES was founded in 1993 and is a platform that aims at improving global cooperation of experts in the area of ecology and engineering for fostering sustainable development.
The Kompogas Wauwil AG uses biogenic waste material from mushroom production, commerce and industry as well as households to produce electricity and heat. seecon has accompanied the project from the development of the idea in 2005 to the start of operation in 2011.
regiosuisse is the Swiss Network Unit for Regional Development and was launched in early 2008 in association with the implementation of the “New Regional Policy (NRP)”. seecon fulfils the role of assistant management of regiosuisse and is responsible for the initiation and support of regional knowledge communities, as well as the development of a regional development research network.
Seeconsult, the German partner of seecon, globally supports municipalities, businesses, associations and scientific institutions in Europe in planning, implementing and evaluating of participation processes in the area of urban development, renewable energies and water and sanitation management.
seecon is a founding member and leader of the Working Group 1 „Capacity Development“ of SuSanA, a network of over 175 partners in the area of sustainable sanitation management.
The free online SSWM Toolbox is a new educational software application that can answer (almost) all questions on the topic of sustainable water and wastewater management. The SSWM Toolbox was designed under the direction of seecon for a multitude of users, especially those in developing countries.
The business association swisscleantech combines the efforts of all companies, including seecon gmbh, which actively seek to promote a cleantech approach in Switzerland.
The Tropenhaus Frutigen uses renewable energy for the first ever alpine sturgeon breeding and caviar production, as well as the cultivation of tropical fruits in its own greenhouses. seecon was associated with the project from initial planning of nutrient and water cycles right through to the establishment of Tropenhaus Frutigen AG.
The Tropenhaus Wolhusen demonstrates that the by-product waste heat can be used profitably to produce sustainable tropical products in Switzerland. Starting in 1999 and in cooperation with its partners seecon developed a system that connects plant and fish production based on intelligent nutrient and water cycles.
Together with several partners seecon has done applied research for the last 10 years to develop a recycling system for tropical products. It is based on the use of solar energy, waste heat, rainwater and fish food in intelligent nutrient and water cycles.
The association “Future for the commons” (VFC) is the platform for partnerships between government, community and business to promote quality of life in public space. Since its establishment in 2006, seecon manages the association’s business.
