Centre of Competence for Sustainable Water Management KNW

seecon gmbh, together with BiCon and ecovia created the centre of competence for sustainable water management (KNW). This group offers holistic solutions and efficient management of projects in sustainable water resources. The KNW team is composed of specialists in integrated and ecological management of water resources – from rain and groundwater, natural water bodies, to wastewater and its use.

Sustainable Sanitation Alliance

The Sustainable Sanitation Alliance (SuSanA) is a network formed by organisations active in the field of sustainable sanitation. Its formation in early 2007 was motivated by the UN’s decision to declare 2008 as the International Year of Sanitation. The goal was to have a joint label for the planned activities, and to be able to align with other potential initiatives. SuSanA is not a new organisation, but rather a loose network of organisations working along the same lines, and open to others who want to join and be active in the promotion of sustainable sanitation systems. seecon has been an active partner of SuSanA since its foundation.

Centre for Environment and Energy Tuzla, Bosnia

The centre for Environment and Energy in Tuzla, Bosnia is active since 2001 in the fields of renewable energies, energy efficiency, waste, recycling, composting, water bodies’ protection and the sustainable use of water resources. Eight local specialists carry out practical projects, hold lectures in the field of environmental education, and are involved in public relations. GRITEX, Truns/Graubünden

GRITEX was founded in Trun in the Canton of Graubünden in 2005. Within the premises of the former cloth factory TRUNS, GRITEX found a good infrastructure where textile products for fashion and security are produced. Furthermore, GRITEX carries out R&D projects to develop prototypes for ballistics protection. As an SME, GRITEX is equipped for small to medium sized series. GRITEX’s performance is based on its experience of many years in the field of ladies’ and men’s clothing, an experience which grows continuously thanks to its learning approach. seecon gmbh carries out the management.

Ecosan Services Foundation

The Ecosan Services Foundation (ESF) is a non-profit organisation with the objective to provide full ecological sanitation project packages including consulting, project planning, implementation, operation & maintenance and project financing. It provides tailor-made solutions for specific sanitation problems and helps to implement sustainable sanitation systems. ESF carries out face-to-face as well as e-learning training courses in ecological sanitation. These training courses enable the participants to design, plan and implement their own projects based on the in-depth training from the course. seecon gmbh is one of the leading partners of the ESF.

Bioterra

Bioterra puts all its efforts on converting current agricultural practices in Switzerland into completely organic cultivation activities. As a founding organization of BioSuisse and co-holder of the most reliable label, the “Knospe” (i.e. “the bud”, the official label for organic foods in Switzerland). Bioterra has put a lot of effort into linking the fields of organic gardening, organic consumption and organic agriculture in the last 50. The association’s magazine “bioterra” has about 18’000 copies of edition. In March 2008, Bioterra merged in an association with the Federation for Nature Gardens VNG and the Swiss Bio Market Gardens, and seecon gmbh coordinated this merging process.
