Matthias Zimmermann

Graduate rural engineer ETH/SIA. After his diploma, Matthias Zimmerman has worked in the administration of the city of Zurich (air pollution control, meteorology), as an editor with Pro Natura (Swiss NGO in the field of nature conservation), and as a director for Helvetas (Swiss NGO, working in the field of development cooperation) in Cameroon.
From 1980-1992, Matthias Zimmermann has contributed professionally to the creation of the ecology centre Langenbruck in the areas of organisation development, communication, and project work, and later in the management and in the foundation board.
From 1992-2003, he concentrated his work on the steering committee of the Verkehrsclub der Schweiz VCS (Swiss NGO in the field of transport & environment) and held the chair of the governing body of the "European Federation for Transport and Environment T&E" in Brussels (1996-2002).
His strengths and experiences are to be found in the areas of transport & environment, spatial planning, climate policy and integrated water and biomass management as well as process management and coaching, project leadership and development cooperation.
